This program includes visits to the cities of La Paz, Potosí, Sucre and Cochabamba well as their interesting surroundings this cultural tour is suitable for all kinds of people, both young and old.

 

SCHEDULE:

DAY 01: Arrival to El Alto international airport (4.000 Mts. above sea level) transfer T–IN airport–overnight hotel (3.600 Mts)

DAY 02: La Paz. City tour La Paz, visit to the Valley of the Moon (3.350 Mts. above sea level). Night hotel

 

EXCURSIÓN TO TIWANAKU RUINS

DAY 03: La Paz- Copacabana. Half day excursion to the archaeological site of Tiawanaku (3.842 Mts). AFTERNOON: Drive 5 hours to the village of Huatajata and Copacabana small city  (3.810 Mts), overnight hotel.

 

LAKE TITIKAKA – VILLAGE OF COPACABANA

DAY 04: Copacabana. Since the small city  of Copacabana (3.810 Mts), on the shores of lake Titikaka, motorboat cruise on the lake, stopover at island of the Sun and Moon disembarkation at the village of Copacabana (3.810 Mts. above sea level), overnight hotel.

DAY 05: Copacabana-La Paz. MORNING.- Tour in Copacabana, including a visit to the pre–columbian site of Intikala and La Orca del Inca. AFTERNOON: After lunch return to La Paz, overnight Hotel.

 

CULTURAL TOUR SUCRE: COLONIAL MONUMENT CITY OF AMERICA

Sucre located in a valley at (2.750 Mts. above sea level), is one the oldest cities in America. Founded by Spaniards in 1538, it was the major judicial centre of the “Real Audiencia de Charcas”. The city preserves magnificent colonial buildings of the 16th and 17th centuries, including the material.  Recoleta church and museum, and the University of San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca which is the second oldest University in America.

 

DAY 06: La Paz-Sucre. Transfer T-OUT hotel airport non-stop flight since to Sucre transfer T–IN airport hotel. AFTERNOON City tours, overnight hotel.

 

DAY 07: Sucre. (UPON REQUEST ON SUNDAYS ONLY) walking tour of Sucre or trip to the Indian market of the village of Tarabuco. Return to Sucre night hotel.

 

POTOSÍ PATRIMONY OF THE HUMANITY

Potosí declared “Cultural Patrimony of the Humanity” by UNESCO is one of the oldest cities in America. In colonial times it was the largest centre of Silver production in the world. It’s population exceed that of London, and is economic activity equalled that of the most developed cities of Europe.

 

Potosí is also recognized fort its preservation of many buildings and churches of baroque style, such as the Santo Domingo church, the Cathedral, and “La Casa de la Moneda” where coins were minted from the silver of the “Cerro Rico de Potosí” for using all over Spanish America.

 

DAY 08: Sucre - Potosí. Journey through a variedly of landscapes including valley, oasis, canyons, along the Easter range to arrive after 4 hour at the Colonial city of Potosí (4.100 Mts.), afternoon city tour visit  Santa Teresa Museum, San Francisco church and  a panoramic view from the roof. Overnight in hotel

DAY 09:  MORNING: 09:00 – 12:00 a.m. visit to the Paillaviri silver mine.

              AFTERNOON:  14:30 – 17:00 p.m. visit the museum La Casa de la Moneda, overnight in a hotel

TRIP TO UYUNI

DAY 10: Potosi-Uyuni. Journey drive from Potosí through wonderful landscapes such as oasis and impressive canyons of San Juan to arrive in Uyuni after Half day drive. AFTERNOON: a visit to the old cemetery of Railroad Locomotives, overnight hotel.

DAY 11: Uyuni- Tawa or Jirira. Departure from Uyuni 9:00 am. by exclusive vehicle transport cross the salty flat of Uyuni and excursion to the Islands of “Inca wasi”, and “Isla Pescado”   drive to Jirira, overnight Lodge or return to Uyuni Hotel.

DAY 12: Jirira-Oruro. Early on the morning return journey from Jirira drive  to Oruro, approximately 7 hours drive by jeep, overnight hotel.

DAY 13: Oruro-La Paz. After Breakfast visit Oruro included: Socabon mine, visit museum  Patiño home, and Uru Uru lagoon, drive 230 km to La Paz city, arrival and  transfer to the hotel, overnight hotel.

DAY 14: La Paz –Coroico. Drive 4 hours descend  from 4600m drive down to 1700m, for the “Death Road” most dangerous and most famous of the world’s and visit is a tropical small town  where the controversial Coca leaf is grown as well as tropical plants and fruits such as citrus fruit, coffee and bananas, you will undoubtedly enjoy the  changing landscapes along  the way from the high pass”La cumbre” 4600m,The  trip goes through Bolivia is diverse geological scenery in about 3 hours, crossing a mountains range of enormous masses of stone mountains are covered with a variety of vegetation arriving at Coroico, overnight hotel  

DAY 15: Coroico-La Paz.  Early morning drive 4 hour to La Paz, afternoon free...     


DAY 16: Transfer to airport. T-OUT.
